Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms govern your use of ShortZen. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

On this page

Acceptable use

In short

Do not point links at malware, phishing, spam or anything illegal. You are responsible for what is behind your links, and we can suspend an account that puts other people at risk.

You agree not to use the service to shorten links to malware, phishing, spam, deceptive, or otherwise illegal or harmful content.

You are responsible for the content behind the links you create and for complying with all applicable laws.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or recipients of your links.

Your account

In short

Keep your credentials safe, keep your details accurate, be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and do not work around the limits your plan sets.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Your plan’s limits may not be multiplied by creating additional accounts. Doing so to obtain more of an allowance than your plan grants, or otherwise working around a limit, is a breach of these terms, and we may consolidate or suspend accounts we reasonably believe are being used this way. Joining workspaces you have been invited to is unlimited on every plan, and nothing here restricts it.

Subscriptions & billing

In short

Paid plans bill in advance and you can change or cancel them yourself at any time. A later change to a price or an allowance does not land on you mid-term.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the billing dashboard; changes follow the proration rules shown at checkout.

When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Plan limits and features are described on the pricing page.

A change to a price or an allowance applies to new sign-ups first. An existing subscriber keeps those terms for at least 12 months from the announcement, and always until the end of a paid annual term. We email at least 30 days before it applies, and you may cancel before then. An allowance does not drop during a term you have already paid for.

Reporting abuse

In short

One address, and an in-product page, for reporting an abusive link or filing a copyright notice. We may disable a link while we review it.

To report a link you believe is abusive, or to submit a copyright (DMCA) notice, email legal@shortzen.io or use the in-product "Report a link" page. We review reports promptly and may disable offending links.

Service availability & liability

In short

The service comes with no warranty, and there is no contractual uptime guarantee today. Liability is capped at what you paid us in the last twelve months.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We target high availability but do not provide a contractual service-level guarantee at this time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes & contact

In short

These terms are between you and the operator of ShortZen. A price or allowance change follows the billing rule above; other material changes are announced before they take effect.

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of ShortZen, the service described on this site. Where your own procurement or compliance process needs something beyond this page, ask at the address below and we will answer.

We may update these terms from time to time. A change to a price or an allowance follows the rule under Subscriptions & billing. Any other material change is communicated through the service or by email before it takes effect.
