Manage links from your assistant or your code

Connect an AI assistant over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), or call the REST API. Both act with your plan, your role and your quota.

Ask your assistant about your links

Every tool works on every plan, including Free, within your plan’s limits.

  1. Copy the server address

    https://shortzen.io/api/mcp
  2. Add it to your assistant

In Claude Code, run this, then type /mcp and log in. In Visual Studio Code and other apps that add a server by its address, paste the address above. Cursor connects with an API key you create after signing up.

claude mcp add --transport http shortzen https://shortzen.io/api/mcp
  3. Log in and choose what it may do

A ShortZen screen opens. Pick the workspace and tick what the assistant may do; deleting stays off unless you tick it. Disconnect it from the API keys page at any time.

Things to ask

Once it is connected, ask in your own words. These are a start.

“Which of my links got the most clicks this month?”
Reads only.
“How close is my workspace to its plan limits?”
Reads only.
“Make a short link for our spring sale page and tag it campaign.”
Changes links. Assistants that support it ask you first.
“Pause every link that points to the old pricing page.”
Changes links. Assistants that support it ask you first.

What an assistant can do

Eleven tools, each limited to what you allowed when you logged in.

Find and read links
Find links and read one.links_search, links_get
Read clicks
Click numbers for one link, or for the workspace.analytics_link, analytics_workspace
Describe the workspace
Describe the workspace (plan, default domain, domains, folders, tags), list domains, and show monthly usage.workspace_get, domains_list, usage_get
Create and edit links
Create, edit, pause or resume a link.links_create, links_update, links_set_active
Delete links
Delete a link. The assistant is told to confirm with you first.links_delete

ShortZen does not visit an address an assistant gives it: the address is screened for malware and phishing, and the page itself is not fetched. Everything an assistant does is checked the way a dashboard action is, against your role, your plan and your quota.

Or call the REST API

Create, update and measure links from your own code, on every plan, including Free.

Send an API key, created in the dashboard, as a bearer token.

curl https://shortzen.io/api/v1/links \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sz_live_<your-api-key>"

Signed webhooks for link, click and conversion events are available from Starter.
